About Hike Finder
498 day hikes across Israel on one map, with the facts you need to choose: length, climb, difficulty, water, shade, dogs, season and how far it is from you.
Hike Finder is made by Jonny, a licensed Israeli tour guide, as part of IsraelTrails.com. Jonny guides private families around Israel: historic, religious and fun days, and hikes like these.
Where the information comes from
- Walked by Jonny (11): measured from his own GPS tracks, checked against the official trail guides, with a 3D terrain view, sketch map and elevation profile.
- Guide entries (26): from the Israel Trails hike guide. Figures marked “est.” are still being checked.
- New, to check (461): facts taken from the Nature and Parks Authority, the Ministry of Education trip guides, KKL, tiuli.com and Hiking the Holyland, with a link to the source on each page. Many trailhead pins are approximate.
Before you go
- Check the weather and flash-flood warnings. Never enter a canyon when rain is forecast anywhere upstream.
- Check opening hours, fees and any booking rules with the reserve or park, and that the trail is open.
- Carry at least 3 litres of water per person in the desert, more in summer. Start early.
- Stay on marked trails. In parts of the Golan there are minefields beside the path.
- This app helps you choose a hike. It is not a navigation device: carry a proper map or a navigation app.
